10 Luxury 2019 Acura Rdx Zero to 60 – Acura is the luxury automobile marque of Japanese automaker Honda. The brand has been launched in the United States and Canada at March 1986, marketing luxury, performance, and high performance vehicles. It had been introduced into Hong Kong in 1991, Mexico in 2004, China in 2006, Russia in 2014 and Kuwait in 2015, and is also sold in Ukraine. Honda’s plan to introduce Acura to the Japanese domestic market (JDM) in 2008 was delayed, because of economic reasons, also later withheld as a result of the 2008 financial crisis.
Acura retains the distinction of being the first Japanese automotive luxury brand. The creation of Acura collaborated with the coming of a JDM Honda dealership sales channel, known as Honda Clio, that offered luxury vehicles, linking previously established Honda Verno, followed by Honda Primo the next year. In its first couple of years of existence, Acura was among the best-selling luxury marques in the US. Even though sales were down in the mid-to-late 1990s, the new experienced a revival in the early 2000s, due to extreme redesigns and the openings of new versions.
Since Acura’s product line grew in the 1990s, however, the company struggled a bit. Some of its goods were duds, and it risked alienating loyal clients when it replaced the Legend and Integra names using alphanumeric designations. The company jumped onto the sexy luxury SUV bandwagon in the mid-’90s with all the SLX. Alas, the SLX was a rebadged version of an Isuzu SUV, along with its own quality didn’t match customers’ expectations.
For the new millennium, Acura revived its product scope. An all-new SUV known as the MDX surfaced, wearing numerous family-friendly features, such as a third-row seat. The Integra was substituted using the RSX sport coupe, along with an all-new entry-level sport sedan known as the TSX was released after that. A complete redesign of its popular model, the midsize TL sedan, followed, as did a redesign of its flagship RL luxury sedan.
