10 Elegant 2018 Acura Tlx 2.4 0-60 – Acura is the luxury car marque of Japanese automaker Honda. The brand was launched in the USA and Canada at March 1986, advertising luxury, performance, and high-performance vehicles. It was introduced to Hong Kong in 1991, Mexico in 2004, China in 2006, Russia at 2014 and Kuwait at 2015, and is also sold in Ukraine. Honda’s strategy to present Acura to the Japanese national market (JDM) at 2008 was postponed, as a result of economic reasons, and afterwards withheld as a consequence of the 2008 financial crisis.
Acura holds the distinction of becoming the very first Japanese automotive luxury brand. The creation of Acura coincided with the debut of a JDM Honda dealership sales channel, known as Honda Clio, that marketed luxury vehicles, linking previously recognized Honda Verno, followed closely by Honda Primo the next calendar year. In its first few years of existence, Acura was one of the bestselling luxury marques in the US. Though sales were down in the mid-to-late 1990s, the brand experienced a revival in the early 2000s, because of drastic redesigns and the introductions of new models.
Since Acura’s product line grew in the 1990s, however, the business struggled a little. A number of its products were duds, and it risked alienating loyal clients when it replaced both the Legend and Integra names with alphanumeric designations. The business jumped to the sexy luxury SUV bandwagon in the mid-’90s with the SLX. Unfortunately, the SLX was only a rebadged version of an Isuzu SUV, also its quality didn’t match customers’ expectations.
For the new millennium, Acura revived its product scope. An all-new SUV known as the MDX surfaced, wearing numerous family-friendly features, such as a third-row seat. The Integra was substituted with the RSX sport coupe, and an all-new entry sport sedan known as the TSX was introduced then. A complete redesign of its most popular model, the midsize TL sedan, followed, as did a redesign of its flagship RL luxury sedan.
